Patience, Patience It's Thursday

I got off of work late the other day, and was too hungry to cook even a 30 min meal. I didn't want fast food, so I went to a cafeteria style restaurant. Was it the hunger head ache, or the fact that I have been out of the kid game too long?

As I walked in the door down the aisle to the food line, there was a family a mother and her son & daughter standing near the wall reading the sign. Maybe I can get in line before them, no, I wasn't fast enough. Uh oh what does the sign say? Say it isn't so, oh yes it is. "Kids eat free limit 2 per adult." I am too hungry for this, and not in the mood for smiling at cute kids. Well that doesn't really matter, cute is not here today, because Bay-Bay is in line in front of me with her Bad "A" kids.

Why do these cafeteria's put the desserts first? There he goes running toward the cashier with his tray, and the dessert (nothing else--just the dessert). All right, that did get a chuckle from me. Now for the scowl on my face, why did she let the 5 year old get his own tray? Didn't she know that would happen? I did, and I am too hungry for games right now.

Damn, does everybody in line have 2 kids? Did you go through the neighborhood & just pick up some children. Give me some food and I won't be so cranky. Ok, I will calm down.

Lord knows I worked the 99 cent menu when my son was little. Oh, free refills on drinks? One small please? I think the 1st time I bought us 2 drinks, he thought someone else was going join us to eat.

Finally, I am at the end of the line, let me get my bag & plasticware so I can go straight to the cashier. I want it to go, no I am not going to sit here in the restaurant, while the Bay-Bay's children run & scream. Oh, no not me. I'll go home and eat, and make note to self. "Cook on Thursday."

Heh. Dunno if I blogged about it, but I've been in a similar situation, fairly recently.

Bad-ass kids cuttin' up... in FRONT of their guardians (and in another instance, in the ABSENCE of any guardians).

Both times were Black kids, for what that's worth. Hell, another time, the parent(s) worked at McDonald's and had the kids setting up drink items (cups, tops, etc.) with their grubby lil paws.

Gross.

I just need to leave the fast-food alone. I've got way too many pet-peeves that multiply, geometrically, when I'm hungry.

:-) I am glad to know that I am not the only one that it happens to. I thought maybe I was being hard on OPK. Other Peoples Kids. LOL

Tired, hungry, and opbak (other people's bad ass kids) is not a good combination at all. Being hard on them is tripping the little kid with the jello so that he lands in it face first. What, I'm the only one who's ever thought of doing that before?

freaky: No way. I've imagined all sorts of man-traps for the lil rugrats... and I love kids.

@ Freaky - OPBAK...I love it. When the little terrors are young, I want to trip their parents. But I think I would be laughing if the little rugrat was tripped. :-)

*West prepares to cross the line*

I'm convinced that a simple spray-bottle filled with regular ol' tap-water will do the trip.

If you've ever seen a kid dressing, there's a funny lil thing they tend to do with pull-over shirts. That 0.0002 seconds they have to go without air freaks them out.

So, if you ever wanna shut a kid up, a lil squirt'll do ya!

Right in the face.

Yes West dear you crossed the line. LMAO
~~~scratching head & wondering what other man-traps you have.~~~
I can't remember the last time I was in one of those fast food cafeterias. We don't have too many of those spots in the DC area, if any. I think I was in Carolina somewhere when I last ate at one. But there were a rack of bad azz kids though. I know wha'cha sayin' though.
This is why I don't eat at cafeteria styled eateries - obese people and bad kids. Both spoil my appetite. ;o)
@ g-mo I guess I like the "fast food" without it being just fast food. I claim it is because I can get vegetables, and that is healthier. ;-)
@ serial I have experienced bad/annoying kids at all but the most expensive restaurants. But I was at the cafeteria yesterday, and it was mostly senior citizens. Much quieter ahh, yes.
@ West - You do that too huh? I was starting to think I was one of only a few. LOL
@ Remnants - Tripping the parents isn't punishment enough. Lock them in a small, hot room with one toilet, Mexican food and lots of salty snacks with the little brats.
Kids don't bother me too much, except for the three kids the other day, at the airport, literally climbing the walls.
@ Freaky - Boy that is punishment and with their little bad kids. That is the icing on the cake.
@Brotha Buck OMG airports/airplanes & other peoples bad kids that is a whole blog by itself.
Bad ass kids are tough to deal with ... I find it harder to tolerate the stupid ass parents that created them.
Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for stopping by. I must say that menopause and brought with it a love of being childless. My baby will be 21 on Tuesday and Lord I feel good having a life of my own
Oh Gosh, you people! lol
@ chele I feel the same way. The parents have to teach them how to act in public.
@ godbabymama Mine has graduated from HS & will be 19 shortly. Do I have to wait for menopause, or can I start enjoying childless-ness now? LOL
Glad to provide entertainment.
